A space is never empty. And nothing ever stands alone. I find that everything is related and one thing affects the other. Between people this is easy to recognize, but I am interested in investigating the relationship between all objects and things in the world. What does a relation look like? Between me and a certain place, object, situation or person? Or just between two of those things, when I am looking at them from outside? In The Floor Is Made Of I am playing with the idea that the shape equals the relation. Suggesting that the shape of the furniture is an expression of how the furniture appears in the space and thereby how it affects the space. It turns out my living room contains beautiful patterns of shared space. I think every space does.
